The Vegan Menopause Podcast -- Ep. 1 -- My Story and Menopause as an Opportunity

Welcome to the very first episode! In this episode, I share a bit about myself, veganism, food photography on Instagram, burnout, and how meditation helped my perimenopausal symptoms.


I then discuss the concept of seeing menopause as an opportunity.


At this point in your life, it’s very common to become introspective and examine your life so far and where you are headed in the next phase of your life. It's a great time to focus on yourself as well as taking care of your body -- things are changing and your body needs care.

Menopause is an opportunity because you have the wisdom, you understand things, you see the bigger picture.


Menopause is an opportunity to set a goal for the next phase of your life. I encourage you to think about what is really important to you right now and get clear on what you want this phase to be like. Some examples of possible goals: start doing the things on your bucket list; travel; get stronger; improve your cardiovascular fitness so you can chase after your grandchildren; taking up painting; writing poetry; write a book; start volunteering for a cause you are passionate about; start your own charity.


Maybe you are not vegan but you want to go vegan or eat more unprocessed foods. You might also be thinking about your longevity and how to stay as healthy as you can, as long as you can.


Menopause has been treated like a disease in our culture, but it’s a normal phase that we go through. It’s a turning point and a new beginning.


So it’s very important to focus on the positive and what we can experience and how we can grow and what your goals and desires are, and what is most important to you.
